This one was done in late July. It is a little farm in Yolo County right outside of Davis. They have peaches, and an assortment of berries that you can pick yourself! So I did this and then went to work picking raspberries! They made it home and a few even made it into a raspberry torte.

I did this small 11x14 painting this last Saturday. It was a really lovely farm in Yolo County, the Wasserman Farm. YoloArts has a wonderful Art & Ag Program where they find a farm to host painters once a month and you get to go out and make art! It's a great way to spend the morning.

Well, there seems to be a constant conflict between painting and posting. Painting has definitely won out. I have some not very good pictures of two of the paintings that I have done in the last few months. Hopefully this weekend I can round up a few more and take better shots of those.

We did a spring plein air display at S12 Gallery in Sacramento, these are two paintings that I entered there. Maybe I can post better shots of them later.

Here are some interesting takes of me painting in old Sacramento. This painting is currently in the S12 Gallery in Sacramento. Gary Zietlow, a wonderful photographer from the Los Angeles Area took them and kindly sent them to me.

I truly have been painting, just not posting. This is one I completed in March at William Pond along the American River. Spring was just beginning to emerge. The painting is a 16x20 and took me two sessions along the river to complete. It will be in the S12 gallery in Sacramento for the May 8, 2010 Second Saturday.

This one is a 30 by 40 and more knife than brush. I think I decided that I like doing larger canvases. I wonder how big I can do in Plein Aire. Only one way to find out! Soon as it decides to quit raining here and dry up even a little bit, I'm going outside to find out!

What I did on my Christmas vacation. This one is larger 22x28. What a kick! I really enjoyed doing it. I was originally thinking that it would be for a small child's bedroom, however my LARGE teen decided that he really liked it, so there it went.

Another one that I started by the rapids at William Pond, American River. This one I finished at home. I wanted to work on the colors more. I'm finally happy with the way it turned out. It was an overcast day, but not really cold.

Well, I'm alive. I think I need a new camera, it isn't preforming the way it was. Oh well. This is a 6x8 that I did in mid November. It was a nice fall day on the river, just the sound of the water rushing by.

Here's the rest I put in the show. I'll redo the images when I get them back. I have to round up the other paintings that I've done since and put them here. I've got a textile art show to get ready for so it's been taking up a lot of my time. Work first, they play!

I need to take better digitals of these. They are in the Capitol Plein Air Festival show at S12 gallery in Sacamento. 39 of the best plein air artists in Northern California and then me! It was great painting with them. I still have a long way to go but what a wonderful journey!

Just finished this abstract for "Painting for Miracles", not the best image of it, but all I had was my little digital camera. It's 24x32. This event was hosted by ZAP Creative Group, a Graphics firm in Sacramento. They are really wonderful people and have a great place. This is a worthy cause, 80 artists getting together over the weekend , each creating a painting to be auctioned off for the Children's Miracle Network. All proceeds will be going to the UC Davis Children's Hospital. My child, whom I based the painting on, Katie D'Arcy, is a survivor of a horrible plane crash.

She lost her father, had every bone in her body broken, and came through with an attitude that when you are at your lowest, you dust yourself off, get up and go on with your life. She is now back at high school and playing tennis. A really great story, a really brave person. I call it "As I Rise Up" in her honor.

No picture this time. I have a small plein air I did when we went to Santa Cruz a few weeks ago. I'll post it soon. Just wanted to let you know that I'll be doing Phantom Galleries Second Saturday, September 11 and 12 from 5 to 8 at Casa Bella Galleria in Uptown Sacramento, Del Paso Blvd and Arden Way. Hi,

Haven't posted in awhile. I'm still painting, just haven't finished a lot. This was a quick one done by the Fair Oaks Bridge in Old Fair Oaks, CA. Sacramento Plein Air Painters had a gathering there a few weeks ago. It was the first time I tried out my new pochade box. Not bad, but I think I need a better tripod. Either that, or "gently" push the paint around the painting! Someone there had an Open Box M and I'm definitely putting that on my Christmas list!
