Just finished this abstract for "Painting for Miracles", not the best image of it, but all I had was my little digital camera. It's 24x32. This event was hosted by ZAP Creative Group, a Graphics firm in Sacramento. They are really wonderful people and have a great place. This is a worthy cause, 80 artists getting together over the weekend , each creating a painting to be auctioned off for the Children's Miracle Network. All proceeds will be going to the UC Davis Children's Hospital. My child, whom I based the painting on, Katie D'Arcy, is a survivor of a horrible plane crash.

She lost her father, had every bone in her body broken, and came through with an attitude that when you are at your lowest, you dust yourself off, get up and go on with your life. She is now back at high school and playing tennis. A really great story, a really brave person. I call it "As I Rise Up" in her honor.

No picture this time. I have a small plein air I did when we went to Santa Cruz a few weeks ago. I'll post it soon. Just wanted to let you know that I'll be doing Phantom Galleries Second Saturday, September 11 and 12 from 5 to 8 at Casa Bella Galleria in Uptown Sacramento, Del Paso Blvd and Arden Way. Snacks and art, not to mention gorgeous furniture! What could be better! Please stop by if you get a chance!
